Before you start

Use before incorporating a material logic, calendar, scope or duration change into a controlled schedule. Follow the contract's notice and change provisions separately.

How to use it

Describe the event before the effect

State what happened, when it became known and which work may be affected. Keep facts, assumptions and disputed matters distinct.

Document the proposed model

Identify activities, calendars, relationships and durations to add or amend. Preserve a comparison file and describe the analysis method and any limitations.

Route and retain the decision

Record the required decision and authorized reviewer. Track the approved implementation revision separately from any entitlement or compensation decision.

Revised access to a work area

Illustrative example: a revised access window affects trenching activity CIV-220. The request records the access instruction, proposed calendar revision and the comparison schedule. A seven-day forecast movement is described as an analysis result pending review, not an approved extension of time.

Before issue

• The comparison file is retained without modification.
• The proposed change is reproducible from the listed inputs.
• Forecast effect is not presented as an entitlement decision.
• Approval and implementation references are recorded separately.
